Two Worlds Collide
Matthew Whiteside & Dominika Mayovich: 13 June - 11 July 2015
The artists will present an interactive cross-discipline exhibition consisting of 6 Audio-Visual works. Each has a specific emotion in mind, inspired by an area of real or imagined landscape. Matthew and Dominika have developed a way of presentation that subverts the standard gallery experience to increase the impact of the work and make it more inclusive, using digital technology and motion sensors, to create an interactive element to the presentation.
Exhibition included the Premiere of Matthew Whiteside’s new work for viola d’amore and live electronics, alongside a performance of Prologue by Gerard Grisey and Ghosts by Ed Bennett. The concert will also be the album launch for Matthew’s new album, which will be available on the night.
Programme:
Prologue by Gerard Grisey for viola and electronics
New piece for viola d’amore by Matthew Whiteside (premiere)
Ghosts by Ed Bennett for amplified viola d’amore
Ulation for viola and electronics
Performers: Emma Lloyd viola and viola d’amore, Matthew Whiteside electronics
