A Sense of Wonder

An In Memoriam exhibition featuring the work of local photographer, Andrew Furey.
All pieces have been chosen by Andrew’s students from South Eastern Regional College (SERC), Lisburn, and represent a broad selection of the themes and interests that he explored.
About The Artist
Andrew Furey was born in Lisburn in 1974. He studied Art History at Cardiff Art College (UWIC) and later settled in Nottingham for much of his adult life. His debut exhibition in 2011, Listening to Rivers in Trees, had a deep connection to this area. He returned to Lisburn in 2016 where the focus of his work turned to the river Lagan and the now derelict, Hilden Mill. Andrew passed away in Amsterdam on the 12th of April 2022.
Andrew was a support worker in SERC and it was with the help and support of his students that this exhibition was formed. All proceeds from the sale of the photographs will go to SERC’s annual, Andy Furey Memorial Photography Competition, Magical Things.
